Newborn photography is such a precious milestone in your new baby’s “firsts.” This is the first time their tiny features and personality are captured on film. It’s a special moment for new parents to experience their new family in a relaxed and organic portrait setting. I captured Abigail’s big sister’s portraits of when she was in her mama’s belly, and her newborn photos also. And now I get to capture her baby sister’s first photos! I absolutely love documenting all of the special moment’s in my client’s lives and watching their families grow through the seasons.

Including Siblings In Newborn Photos

Ellie (big sister) was so sweet with her baby sister. I could tell all she wanted to do was hold her and kiss her and just be around her new sister. I love when siblings are a part of newborn sessions! It really is a sweet and fun bonding time for them and their new sibling. They get to be a part of the magic of documenting their baby sibling’s first weeks of life. Talking up the newborn session with your older kids makes them excited and helps them know what to expect when they have their photos taken. It’s special for them to be involved, after all, this is your growing family and having your babies together these images will become ones you will cherish for a lifetime.

Capturing Timeless Little Moments

I talk all about how much I love family portraits on Instagram and on the blog because of the timelessness that each image portrays. But when it comes to photographing your precious little one, their first portraits are ones to completely cherish and savor. During our session, we will be focusing on their sweet features and tiny details. Their fingers, little toes, and button nose as well as some organic and natural shots of you with your new babe. My style is very organic and candid – I like to create an environment where we have natural baby poses, as well as ones that happen during those in between moments. Such as little sis giving kisses and snuggling baby sibling, dad nuzzling your tiny love into his chest, mama cooing and smiling at her little bundle on the bed…all of these moments are beautiful and natural.
