Beach Maternity Photo Session at Windansea Beach

It was a chilly but beautiful winter evening for these Windansea Beach this beach maternity photo session! Windansea Beach in La Jolla is an absolutely stunning beach with dramatic cliffs, and textured rocks. It was mainly overcast throughout the session, but that allowed the beautiful blues of the ocean to shine through. The sun also peaked out for a few minutes to give us a few sun kissed golden images!

Choosing a Location For Your Maternity Photos

It can be tough choosing a location for your your maternity photos because there are so many gorgeous beaches in San Diego. Plus, I love the beach, field, and studio all equally and all for different reasons. We decided on the beach because Ian and Brittni both grew up loving the beach! When they first met, Brittni lived in Solana Beach within walking distance from Fletcher Cove, so much of their dating life was spent at the beach. So what better location to capture their last moments together just the two of them, then next to the ocean where it all began.

Soaking in those Last Moments

Ian was on crutches during the session from a leg injury, but he was such a trooper! I must admit, I was a little nervous shooting at the beach and especially Windansea beach as it is a little challenging getting down to the sand. Dad rocked it though and was game for anything. You’d never know we tossed his crutches to the side after each pose. It’s a new complimentary service I provide 😉
