Five Reasons I Love Newborn Photography Sessions
Newborn photography sessions are my absolute favorite sessions to capture. It’s so special to plan in the months leading up to the day you meet your little one! At our newborn portrait session, you will have a chance to interact with your newest bundle of joy, snuggle them close, and hold them in your arms while I document those amazing moments of your sweet bond together. Keep reading for the top 5 reasons why I love newborn photography sessions:
1. Preserve Your Family Memories
The reason why I do what I do is to preserve your family memories in an authentic and connected way. I have a special love for capturing your growing family on camera! Those first few weeks of their life is so fleeting; they grow from tiny infant to babe so fast. The imagery we capture during those newborn photography sessions will remind you of how that tiny miracle felt in your arms for the first time. I want you to never forget the details of those tiny toes, sweet little lips, and sleepy snuggles. With these cherished images of your newborn, you will always be able to return to that precious time when everything was new and fresh, and a special bond was beginning to bloom between you.
2. Never Forgetting That Newness of Motherhood
No matter how many babies you’ve had, the newborn stage of life is by far the most beautiful thing to experience for a mother. That sweet and excitement and nervousness of adding to the family is such a special season, and fleeting at that. It’s important to realize that this time with them being so small is short lived – celebrate it in a big way with an emotion-filled newborn photography session
3. Newborn Photography Sessions: What To Expect
Typically, you would have booked the ‘Collective Membership Program’ which includes maternity, newborn, 6 month, and first birthday portraiture. The maternity session set the tone for the exciting sessions we have ahead of us! Now we will capture all of the beautiful details, sweet snuggles, and those first smiles as they sleep and snuggle in your arms. These newborn photography sessions are baby-led, meaning we let your little one get cozy and comfortable so that the poses mimic their natural movement and personality.
At this age, your tiny love is easier to pose since they’re still very new to the world. I allow plenty of time for them to get comfortable in their environment, for mama to nurse, and for snuggling if they’re fussy. This session is meant to be a celebration of the life you just created – there is no rushing or hurrying to get that perfect shot.
4. Welcoming Your New Baby
You’ve just spent the last 9 months (or longer!) waiting for you tiny love to come! Their newborn session is a wonderful and reminiscent way to celebrate their debut. You will look back on these photos and forever remember how you felt welcoming them into the family. The images we create define what it means for prayers to be answered, and your little miracle deserves to be celebrated in the most beautiful and heartfelt way. What better way than to document their first days earth side than with stunning portraiture?
5. Flexibility of Your Portrait Location
Newborn sessions are done either at my studio, or in your house for a more lifestyle feel – typically within the first week that your little one comes home. I book sessions several months out, so it is never too early to secure your spot! Email me with your estimate due date and we can get your sweet session on the calendar.
